From the minds behind indie game Stories Untold, developers No Code have been working with Devolver Digital on their upcoming space adventure narrative, Observation.

Stocked full with a team of game developing veterans, members coming from the likes of Rockstar North, Rocksteady, IO Interactive, CCP and Creative Assembly are working on releasing their sci-fi fantasy game next year on the PS4 and PC.

Lost In Space

Here’s everything we’ve learned about the recently announced space thriller:

  • Experience distant space through the eyes (or lens) of a space station’s AI program, S.A.M.
  • The AI players will also have the ability to navigate the station’s control system and various tools to assist the doctor and her mysteriously missing crew.
  • With an all-star team behind Observation, players will experience a gripping narrative and impressively polished visuals throughout the space adventure.

For now, that’s about all we have on the upcoming space title from No Code and Devolver Digital. Observation is set to release on the PS4 and PC in Spring 2019.

Descent Developers Gearing Up For Private Beta Test

The upcoming prequel reboot of the classic Descent series is heading towards its testing phase, and the developers are looking at Kickstarter backers as the testers.

After utter silence over the past year, Descent developers, Descendent Studios, have finally given hope to fans awaiting the return of the iconic FPS space title.

The Descent Of Descent

After teaming up with publishing veterans, Little Orbit, the additional funds allowed the developers to expand the single-player campaign into a massive space adventure that will have long-time fans and newcomers at the edge of their seat.

The rebooted series will have players navigating their ships through tight caverns littered with unique puzzles both through a deep single-player campaign or in online multiplayer.

Those who purchased last year’s Descent: Underground through the Kickstarter campaign will be able to join in on the beta testing for the upcoming 2019 release.

Here’s everything we know about the recently announced adventure title:

  • You play as the intelligent engineer, Ada, and embark on an adventure thrown into a dangerous world filled with vile gremlins out for your head.
  • Sparklite plays like an old-school, Zelda-inspired adventure game with a dash of roguelite elements, such as procedurally generated content.
  • These random encounters are caused by land shaking earthquakes that sporadically alter the landscape of each level in the middle of your adventure.
  • Quests, minigames and a slew of new challenges present itself with every violent earthquake, making for a surprising adventure with new obstacles around every corner.
  • Ada uses her uncanny engineering skills to invent new guns and gadgets to use at her disposal. Aside from wiping out the many enemies, players will also use her skills and inventions to solve puzzles which challenge the player throughout the adventure.

With only the announcement, a few small details and a short, slick trailer, we can expect to hear more about Sparklite within the next year.

Sparklite is set to release in the Fall of 2019 for the PC, Xbox One, PS4 and the Switch.

Dontnod Entertainment is bringing back the highly acclaimed series with their upcoming sequel, Life is Strange 2.

After the surreal events following Max Caulfield and Chloe Price, fans will return to the sobering universe as Sean Diaz, accompanied by his little brother, Daniel.
