Halo 5 is receiving an Xbox One X patch, backward compatibility gets some love too

Most notably missing from that list of games was Halo 5: Guardians. Well fret not Halo fans, it looks like that will be changing.

Takeaways

In a community update, 343 Industries announced the following:

  • Halo 5: Guardians will be receiving a 4K update for the Xbox One X later this year.
  • Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition, Halo 3, Halo 3 ODST, and Halo 4 will all be added to the evergrowing list of backwards compatible games for the Xbox One.
  • All the DLC for every backwards compatible Halo game will be made free to download through the Xbox store.
  • Special events are planned, throughout all of the summer, for the multiplayer in Halo 5: Guardians.
